Fettle

Get in fine fettle.

Fettle is three things. A free, private health tracker anyone can use with no account. A premium tier that syncs your diary across devices and goes native on iOS and Android. And a white-label platform where a personal trainer runs their whole business: their brand, their programmes, their clients' food and training in one place. The tracker is free forever and the coach pays one flat rate with no client caps.

What it does

How it works

Tell Fettleyour sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goal. It estimates your maintenance calories with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, adjusts for how fast you want to lose or gain, and turns that into a daily calorie and macro target. Then you log what you eat, and the rings and bars show what's left.

Food data comes from Open Food Facts, a free and open database. Figures are a good working estimate, not clinical advice.

Free, and private

No account, no ads, no paywall on the basics. Your diary, goals and weight are stored on your own device. You can export a backup whenever you like. That's the whole deal.

Why I built it

The tracker I used kept getting worse. More ads, another paywall, an account I never asked for. There is a name for that slow slide, and I ended up writing a book about it: Grift, Inc. Fettle is meant to be the opposite. Free, no ads, and your data stays on your phone.

If that idea lands with you, the book is at griftinc.com. An honest review there helps a small project more than you would think.
