This policy explains how Fettle handles your information. We believe your health data belongs to you. We keep things simple and we never sell your data.

The free app

Fettle is a local-first app. If you use the free version, everything you log is stored directly in your own browser storage on your own device. This includes your food diary, weight, water, sleep, steps, workouts, and rest.

You do not need an account to use the free app. Nothing you log is sent to our servers. Because your data lives on your device, you control it completely. You can export an encrypted backup of your data. You can also choose to turn on end-to-end encrypted sync to back up your data securely. This is zero-knowledge, meaning only you can read it.

The coached tier

We offer an optional coached tier. If you choose to join a personal trainer or coach through their Fettle page, things work a little differently.

To allow your coach to see your progress, your logs will sync to a secure database with your explicit consent. This database is hosted by Supabase in the EU (London region). Your data is strictly readable only by that specific coach. We enforce this using database row-level security.

You can revoke your consent at any time. If you revoke consent, the sync stops immediately. If you are a free solo user and do not join a coach, your data never touches this database.

Analytics and cookies

We want to know how many people visit our site, but we do not want to track you across the internet.

We use Vercel Web Analytics. This tool counts overall aggregate visits. It is cookieless, collects no personal data, and requires no consent.

We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This tool does set cookies. However, GA4 only loads if you explicitly tap "Allow" on our cookie banner.

We do not use any advertising networks. We never sell your data, ever.

Food data

Our food data comes from Open Food Facts. This is a free open database. When you scan a barcode or read a nutrition label, that processing happens entirely on your own phone.

Children

Fettle is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 years of age.

Your rights

Because the free app stores data locally, you already have direct control to access, export, or delete your information. You simply manage it within the app on your device.

If you use the coached tier, you have the right to access, export, or delete the data synced to your coach. You can also withdraw your consent at any time.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy occasionally. If we make big changes, we will let you know.
